Roslyn is an artist, based in South Cheshire. Her work has focused on drawings in pen, graphite, and chalk pastel pencils, as well as layered mixed media. Recently, she rediscovered her love of printmaking, focusing on intaglio prints with collograph plates, Tetra Pak prints, and non-toxic aluminium intaglio printing. Developing her drawings into collograph prints has opened up lots of new possibilities and techniques that she has really enjoyed. The use of markmaking, texture, colour, tone and line in intaglio prints has given her a series of works this year that she is keen to develop further, including landscapes, natural forms, wild birds, gundogs and also architectural forms. The intaglio inks are so adaptable to show tone and texture in fur, feathers and details, along with etched lines and removed ink areas for highlights on her prints, in both monochrome and colour. Printmaking has given her work the potential to develop in new and exciting ways.
